I Watched : The Day The Earth Stood Still

I went out for a movie date just earlier. It's a date with myself, as usual. :P But this time, I watched it at SM Cinema.

Everybody seems to be raving about the "Twilight" movie and I was about to watch it; but I noticed that "The Day The Earth Stood Still" was already on theaters so I watch later instead. I've been waiting for this movie to come out and I've really been wanting to watch it on the big screen with... my "used-to-be-movie-buddy", but heck with that, I'm tired of waiting for him to ask me out.

I actually thought that the place would be jam-packed by people, since it's a popular movie and it's December... Good thing it wasn't, because I hate watching movies when there are too many people... Mostly, cinemas gets to be crowded by noisy people when the film is very popular.

The movie is good or so-so interesting. It makes you curious a lot on "why the human race needs to wiped-out". I guess it's how the creator played with the plot. He/she didn't reveal the reason directly on the first parts.

It reminds me of the movie "War of The Worlds" since it has something to do with alien invasion, but is much more different since it isn't gory nor packed with unusual creatures, or make that is much more "humanly" or realistic. The movie didn't dwell on fancy graphics too...

I guess you could bring along kids to watch this movie. It isn't as violent compared to movies that are mostly released today. (I am totally annoyed by how movies now a days get to be so violent, some are even rated as R or PG-13 when it should be R-18).

I don't wanna spoil the movie, just in case you want to watch it yourself. But the movie was about "Change", putting more emphasis on what human behavior has something to do with nature.
I don't know how this movie will affect people, but the message wasn't moving enough if it is suppose to be the purpose of the movie.

Hmmm... I rate this movie as 3 and a half out of 5 stars.

* Anyway, I better be going now. I'm going out to meet somebody later. An old long lost friend. I think this would be the third time we'll be seeing each other after years of talking. Hehe.
