How do I find out how much my quartz crystal cluster is worth?
I have a quartz crytal cluster that is about a foot long with alot of crystals comming out of it and we think there is some on the inside. Does anyone know how i can find out how much it may be worth?

There are a lot of things that determine how much a mineral specimen is worth. One of the important factors is how rare the mineral is… in your case, I’m afraid quartz is the most common mineral in the earth’s crust, which doesn’t make it a very unusual find. However, other important factors are how large the sample is, how well crystallized it is (do the crystals have nice, flat faces, or are they more like ‘blobs’), and whether there is damage to any of the crystals. Although quartz is exceedingly common, if you have a rather large piece (1 foot is quite good) that has beautiful, well formed crystals that show good luster and are not damaged, you may have a piece of substantial value.
The value of anything is determined simply by what people are willing to pay for it, and you may get a variety of answers from different people. What I would do is try to find a store or gift shop where rocks and minerals are sold and ask the salesperson what they would pay to have your peice in their store. Two or three answers from people who are more knowledgeable and experienced in collecting minerals should give you a ballpark idea how much your specimen is worth.
